Small Interiors Made Airy With White And Yellow Decor And Space Saving Solutions

Tiny spaces with terrific design, these three small scale home interiors feature smart space saving solutions and zoning techniques that will maximise the potential of any compact living quarters. The clever storage and bespoke furniture pieces sit amidst crisp white and yellow decor schemes, which bring a cheerfully bright and airy feel to the lean square footage. Home number one features made-to-measure furniture that hugs the perimeter of the entire living space, and conceals optimum storage opportunities. The second tour is studio with stylish zoning around the bed, and an efficient workspace setup. The last studio apartment impressively squeezes in two whole dining areas, and one small yet luxurious yellow ‘bedroom’.

The minimalist living room of home number one is bordered by a made-to-measure sofa that features integrated end tables, and matching bench that completes an L-shaped arrangement. LED light strips run below the seating to give it a floating appearance.

Every piece of lounge furniture harbours hidden storage solutions inside. The sofa has four separate drawers for organising belongings. Lids lift up on the end tables to stow away small electronic gadgets, magazines or books. An entire lidded chest wheels out of the largest end cubby, which could be used as extra seating. The final window bench opens by lifting its seats, revealing two deep stow away compartments for larger items.

When all of the storage drawers and compartments are closed, the furniture maintains a sleek and minimalist look. A TV pulls around from the hallway wall, on a swing arm bracket, to face the sofa when desired.

A kitchen perimeter divides the lounge from the cooking area.

Even with all of the storage compartments opened out in the lounge, there is still plenty of space to move around.

A yellow shelving unit and a white pegboard wall tower at the end of the fully-fitted sofa design.

There is second pegboard wall utilised down the hallway, by the wall mounted TV.

A white kitchen pales into the background of the bright yellow and wood tone living room.

One yellow pendant light hangs boldly above the white marble countertop of the breakfast bar.

Storage volumes are fitted into the back of the dining bar, as well as a hidden seat that allows two diners to face each other over a meal.

The stool tucks away unseen when not in use.

More storage units line the hallway of the home.

Behind the kitchen, glass sliding doors conceal a bedroom and workspaces. An Eames bird perches on the top bunk.

Ladders to the bunk are slid out of the way of the desk when they’re not in use. A vanity area resides just outside the bedroom door.

Looking out from the bedroom, we can see that pull out larder units line the route into the kitchen.

Ceiling tracks reveal that sliding doors can be pulled shut to split the bedroom.

Bespoke storage units fill every inch of available space on the floor and walls.

The bunk floats across the window, allowing natural light to reach both the lower desk area and the upper platform.

Our next apartment was designed for a female student. A dining peninsula splits the length of the room between kitchen and lounge. A wood slat feature wall differentiates the spaces further, along with a change in flooring. A yellow accent rug softens the wood floor in the lounge, beneath a modern round coffee table.

Cheerful yellow kitchen bar stools cluster under the kitchen peninsula.

Wood slats screen the bed from the kitchen diner.

A small recess by a window presents an ideal spot to fashion a home office. A small storage unit rings in the yellow accent.

Two hanging planters fill the narrow transition between the home workspace and a bedroom portiere.

A circular deep pile rug is laid out by the bed.

A series of white closets and cabinets line the hallway toward the front door.

Coat hooks push out from wood slats above a comfy shoe bench, topped with a welcoming yellow seat pad.

Finally, our third home tour is a 42 square metre studio in Kiev, Ukraine. Inside the living room, a sputnik chandelier is colour coordinated to the black, white and yellow decor. Below the chandelier, a single multi-surface table design has the look of nesting coffee tables.

The yellow accent living room is backed by a monochrome minimalist kitchen.

By the lounge window there is a dining bar, where three stools put diners at optimum height for city views.

Settled below the wall mounted TV, a modern media cabinet is adorned with yellow handles to strengthen the subtle colour theme.

Yellow portiere curtains frame a yellow ‘bedroom’.

Inside the bedroom area, the yellow interior design becomes all enveloping, with a solid yellow ribbed feature wall and a matching yellow storage bed.

In place of a standard headboard, a huge circular mirror gives the small bedroom a luxurious vibe.

A cube pouf nestles against a wall of mirrors that visually double the size of the home entryway.

A more formal dining area marks a divide between the lounge and kitchen.

The dining chairs face toward the TV for meal time viewing.

A white bathroom door stands frameless inside a white wall.

We take our first leave from the yellow decor palette on entering the bathroom. Here, a linear wall light softly illuminates pink walls, and a wood effect modern bathroom vanity.

Black and grey accents tone down the sweetness of the palette.
