Japandi Interiors Featuring The Curved Decor Trend

With a base of natural materials and a neutral palette, the Japandi style promotes a feeling of peace and tranquillity. However, a calm aesthetic doesn’t mean a blandly simplified or understated interior. The two home designs we feature here today offer interesting compilations of shapely furniture pieces and lighting installations to achieve cool Scandi meets Japanese melds. We see wood, wicker, jute, cotton and linen utilised with fashion-forward thinking. The curved decor trend has the biggest influence in each of these designs and creates distinctive silhouettes. Curves communicate a welcoming softness and an easy-flowing layout for daily life, fusing form and function in the Japandi way.

A circular art print draws attention in the living room of our first Japandi interior. Its round silhouette complements an arched alcove behind the small sofa and an oval coffee table.

Beneath the dining room pendant light, a rustic decorative vase is filled with dried botanicals to make a natural table centrepiece. A wooden dining bench and chairs complement the legs of the dining table, which is topped with a sleek terrazzo surface.

A second rustic vase decorates the chic kitchen peninsula. An L-shaped kitchen installation draws around toward the front door of the apartment. In the entryway, a built-in bookcase adds a decorative element under an arched ceiling.

Inside the master bedroom, a full-length arched mirror reflects natural light from the windows. A small shelf crosses the glass, providing a landing spot for trinkets.

3D relief art provides sculptural bedroom wall decor in an arched theme above the bed.

A white stone bedside table makes a minimalist addition.

In the second bedroom, a circular art print adds muted colour above the bed.

A modern desk makes a home workspace on one side of the bedroom.

Our second inspirational Japandi interior has an open plan living space that’s divided by a modern rounded sofa design. Nesting round coffee tables drop bold black accents down in front.

Opposite the couch, the TV wall is decorated with an eye-catching wood slat design. A combination of slats and overlaid wooden panels give the focal wall added depth and light-play.

A large living room rug complements the wood-slatted feature wall with its ribbed texture.

Abstract wall art places moments of subtle colour on the plain white living room walls.

A small, curved lounge chair rounds out the living room furniture arrangement without blocking light from the window.

Two dining room pendant lights illuminate the full length of a unique rectangular dining table. They also introduce a luxe white marble element that elevates the aesthetic.

A clean modern kitchen design fills the back of the living space with wood tone and natural stone.

Our final Japandi home interior has a light-filled living room. A unique orange lounge chair provides a welcome pop of colour. A modern swing arm wall lamp adds a stark black accent that ties in with traditional teapots on the coffee table.

The shapely orange armchair is the Groovy M chair designed by Pierre Paulin for Artifort. A unique coffee table complements the curves of the chair. Indoor plants and botanical arrangements add natural interest to the room.

A rattan room divider places light-permeable arches between the lounge area and an open plan kitchen diner and entryway. A storage bench fits neatly into the nook by the entryway to tuck away outdoor items. A matching storage bench is situated on the opposite side of the rattan room divider to deliver cohesive decor to the lounge area.

A full-length mirror lets the homeowners check their appearance on the way out the door. The home entryway nook doubles as a focal point for the formal dining room. Wall cabinets tuck away seasonal serving items and a table lamp makes a cosy glow. See more ideas for unique table lamps.

Over in the adjacent kitchen area, a terrazzo peninsula is supported by an extraordinary, sculptural post of stacked spheres.

A dining bench is built into the back of the kitchen peninsula, where it’s teamed with a racetrack-shaped wooden dining table and two upholstered dining chairs. Elegant pendant lights drop a flash of gold above.
