Showcasing Nature: A Modern Interior With a Staircase Terrarium

Step into an apartment that exudes modern sophistication, where smooth grays, greiges, whites, and wood tones set the stage. Visualized by Anastasia Korableva, this high-end interior is furnished with sleek, linear furniture and tasteful decor, creating a contemporary ambiance that exudes elegance. The apartment is flooded with natural light, thanks to its large windows that offer panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. A stunning staircase terrarium adds to the natural allure, bringing the outdoors inside. This living art merges the organic and the modern, becoming a captivating and soothing centerpiece. It infuses the apartment with a sense of tranquility and balance while elevating the soft decor palette with its vibrant greenery.

The living room is a large, open space with a combined lounge area, formal dining room, and luxury kitchen. Large windows fill the apartment with abundant natural light and a panoramic view of the environment beyond. When the glazed doors are opened, the living room expands onto a long balcony furnished with modern sun loungers.

A large area rug defines the sitting area from the rest of the open-plan living space. The rug spreads a soft greige island over a sea of raw gray microcement screed. A multidirectional modular sofa arrangement is organized on top, where the homeowner can read or watch TV.

Two acrylic coffee tables nest in the center of the sitting area, where they have a light-reflective, lightweight presence. A textured glass vase holds a botanical coffee table centerpiece, along with a small tealight and a stack of coffee table books.

The TV wall is smoothly clad in wood panels. The bank of rich wood tone has a warming effect on the large living room and draws the eye toward the entertainment center.

Recessed strip lights line the edge of the ceiling, distributing even illumination over the entire room.

The rear of the sofa arrangement features a comfortable chaise lounge section. A small acrylic side table wraps the edge of the chaise to keep drinks and snacks conveniently close to hand when reading. This is also an ideally situated spot to hang out and chat with the cook while they’re busy preparing the next meal in the adjacent kitchen.

A stone console unit strikes a stunning vein underneath the wall-mounted TV. A restrained display of black decorative bowls adorns its shelves.

Sheer curtain panels filter the sunlight from the huge windows.

The wood paneling that clads the TV wall also encases a storage unit and an internal door to achieve one continuous, streamlined aesthetic.

The living room flows directly into the home entryway and stairwell, visually maximizing the space. A tall, narrow shelving unit is recessed into the entryway wall to fashion a decorative element and added storage space.

A console table stands beside the home entryway. Books, an incense burner, and decorative vases make a neutral arrangement on the marble tabletop. Eye-catching modern wall art completes the vignette.

A large, floor-to-ceiling terrarium is nestled into the stairwell. An overhead light box feeds the plants and illuminates the wooden stair treads.

Cactuses and tropical plants make a dense green display inside the glass case, adding life to the modern apartment.

The terrarium supplies the kitchen island and part of the neighboring hallway with a lush green view. The modern staircase design snakes around the sides of the large terrarium, taking in its organic beauty from dual perspectives. LED stair lights thread each step, giving the solid wood ascent a bright and floating impression.

Two linear suspension lights are installed above the long kitchen island to aptly brighten both the kitchen sink and the breakfast bar. The island is furnished with three acrylic kitchen bar stools, which perfectly complement the acrylic living room coffee tables.

The chunky gray stone countertop is matched by a stone-clad kitchen extractor fan and a coordinating stone backsplash. The kitchen cabinets are a warm collection of flat-fronted walnut doors with modern matt black hardware. A soffit is built above the tall cabinets to construct a custom-fit appearance.

A stone kitchen sink is integrated into the kitchen island countertop, creating a seamless aesthetic that is easy to clean.

A modern carafe and glass tumbler set makes a subtle and practical adornment on the kitchen countertop. The rest of the worktop is kept completely clear to achieve a neat, minimalist aesthetic.

Slivers of glass welcome in light around the front door. A built-in, floating entryway table is teamed with an upholstered stool to make a handy dressing area.

A full-length mirror is installed behind the entryway table to give the compact area a larger and brighter appearance.

LED strips edge the mirror, throwing illumination upon a carefully curated display of decorative items.

A large window spills sunlight onto a small reading nook with a comfortable armchair and nesting side tables. A large chandelier gives the little nook and grande appearance.

The large glass dining room table makes a light impact on the room. The glazed top reflects the windows and the view.

A pair of large dining room chandeliers light the full length of the long rectangular dining table, which accommodates up to eight diners.

Mid century modern chairs draw bold silhouettes around the contemporary glass and stone dining table design. These are the Chandigarh chair, aka Easy Chair, designed by Pierre Jeanneret in the 1950s.
