FORM Architectural Bureau completed the design of this modern white apartment in Kiev, Ukraine. The 1,938-square-foot home features an array of interesting materials and textures, most of which are organic. There’s so much white that even the subtlest of grays pops.
In the lounge zone, the designers experimented with the flooring height, creating the impression of sunken seating. Cozy pillows, a contemporary fireplace and a hammered silver ottoman stage a perfect retreat or socializing spot.
An elegant staircase in the middle visually separates the lounge zone from the kitchen and dining spaces. The diversity of the white color palette is even more striking here, with marble flooring, lacquered storage units and white painted wooden chairs.Between the main hallway and the kitchen a strong black accent wall adds much needed contrast with the rest of the apartment. The two generously-sized bedrooms follow the same design lines; breezy curtains, knitted blankets and original bongo side tables add warmth and comfort. Our favorite place has to be the tea room, with its giant pillow chairs and low wooden table. [Photography credits: FORM Architecture Office]
Which room is your favorite? What do you think of using so much white?
