This industrial apartment in Barcelona showcases an intriguing design and layout. The project was completed by GCA Architects and answers the contemporary living needs of a young couple.
Entering the space, guests are greeted by an imposing living area that also continues to integrate with the dining space. An array of textures make the space particularly dynamic. Exposed concrete, iron, copper and raw wood are merged in unexpected ways, delivering fresh interiors with a twist. Chairs in antique wood add a rustic charm to the overall scheme. The lighting is a mix of reclaimed materials, bespoke pieces and designer lamps. We love how paintings and graphic art also contribute to the vivid character of this home.
The living area also connects to an outdoor terrace through generously-sized glass doors; this opening ensures a perfect natural illumination throughout the apartment. For a moment of stillness, you can relax in the master bedroom (with en-suite bathroom and integrated dressing).
One of the highlights of the project is a floating stairway that leads the way to the mezzanine. A comfortable small sofa is located in this lofted space, which is combined with a home office.
