With a relaxing view and a minimalist design, the cozy Haus Wiesenhof was dubbed by its architects as “a place of peace and contemplation”. The home is strongly connected to nature through various balconies, terraces, and its wood-clad exterior.
Serving as a weekend residence, this home, located in St. Johann in Tirol, Austria, is characterized by rustic simplicity and serenity. Gogl Architekten said of the project, “the house communicates with the dominant mountain range, with every view resembling a painting. The decision to utilize archaic materials was made quite consciously to quote the surrounding farmsteads. The client wanted an atmosphere that was light and airy, but also cozy.”
Perceived as an alpine refuge, the House Wiesenhof is the perfect getaway for weekends and vacations. The house boasts several living spaces, with stylish minimalist décor and few pieces of furniture, corresponding to the client’s tastes and needs. Oak wood, natural stone, and iron were used in defining the home’s rustic aesthetic. The architects also focused on designing a sustainable home out of respect for the natural surroundings.
